Across the U.S. and Canada today, people will be eagerly watching the news to see if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not. It’s a funny superstition, but one that has persisted since the mid-19th century.
What’s your vote?
Will he see his shadow, foreshadowing 6 more weeks of winter?
Or will he not see his shadow, bringing on the spring season?
(If he doesn’t see his shadow, that means it’s a cloudy day and will most likely need one of these engraved flashlights) –>
Whom do we rely on to protect our communities day and night? Our law enforcement officers are the dedicated people who put their lives at risk to keep our society safe. Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.), a day that gives us the opportunity to thank our hard-working law enforcement officers by recognizing the sacrifices they make daily.
Flashlights aren’t what they used to be. Do you remember the big old ones of the 1950’s? They had an incandescent bulb and 2 D batteries. The bulbs would burn out once in a while, the batteries would leak and destroy the flashlight. Or you would drop it and break the glass lens.
Then came the 6 volt lantern batteries and the accompanying lantern flashlights. They were very bright and would last a long time. But, same old incandescent bulb.
Then in 1979 Anthony Maglica invented and manufactured Maglites. This flashlight had a rugged aluminum barrel, and was well built. Still it had the same old incandescent bulb.
The era of technology then drove Mr. Maglica to change the bulb (and the accompanying circuitry) to the LED bulb. I don’t know the year of this change.
Now, in 2021, Some engraved flashlights use COB bulbs, which are even brighter than LED bulbs. And some circuits even make it possible to have different light levels, flashing, strobing, and SOS blinking.
Flashlights have come a long way since the 1950’s. Let’s remember this on January 6, National Technology Day.
It’s been a rough year, to say the least. Thank goodness it is almost over.
Between the global COVID-19 pandemic, social justice protests, and the presidential election, we all deserve for 2021 to start off on a better foot.
What better (and funny) way to end the year than by getting a Maglite engraved with “Good Riddance 2020” for all of your employees and favorite customers?
Today is a day where you can exhale and relax- Christmas is upon us. How do you like to celebrate Christmas Eve? By playing Christmas carols, preparing a yummy dinner for your family, wrapping gifts, sitting around the fire?
Celebrate this evening with peace and joy in your hearts. Have a very Merry Christmas!
(And we hope tomorrow you’ll be lucky enough to receive a gift of promotional Maglights!)
The day is here. Today is the winter solstice, the shortest, darkest day of the year. How are you going to find your keys at 5:00 tonight when you’re busy on your phone but need a flashlight? Don’t hang up your phone in order to use its flashlight- grab your trusty Maglite flashlight out of your purse or pocket. What about when you’re getting the mail or taking the dog for a walk tonight? Throw your American-made Maglite flashlight into your coat pocket and head on out- ready and capable to enjoy the rest of your evening.
It’s the Thursday before Christmas and you’re getting ready to wrap your gift for your Secret Santa holiday party. But wait, you got sidetracked this week and forgot to shop for it! Even Amazon Prime won’t deliver within an hour of ordering. So what should you do?? Here’s some advice- go through that lonely shelf in your closet.. there’s always a stash of unused gifts people have given you throughout the year that either you already have, don’t need… or don’t like. Regift one of those! As long as it’s unused, in new condition, and something you know that person will like! But trust me, the items that you won’t ever think of regifting are those shiny, reliable Maglite flashlights on your counter or in your purse. You’ll never want those trusty guys to ever leave your side.
Today marks the 79th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Forever “a date which will live in infamy,” it was a day that caught our country by surprise and lit a fire that only the Allies would be able to extinguish.
This weekend you can honor those killed and injured in the attack by:
